Laboratory Facilities

A range of experimental and analytical equipment is utilised for research. The Experimental Petrology Laboratory is well equipped with a variety of one atmosphere furnaces , piston cylinders and multi-anvil equipment. Each piece of equipment has an optimal range of pressure and temperature conditions it can be used for and many have been built within the laboratory itself.

To analyze experiments we use techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscope, Electron Microprobe and Laser Ablation ICP-MS.
