DPhil student Alexandra Morton-Hayward has been awarded a Scholarship from the Anglo-Danish Society in support of her DPhil with Ross Anderson and Julie Cosmidis. The Scholarship will allow Ally to take up a long-term Visiting Researcher position in Geomicrobiology & Environmental Metabolomics at the Dept of Environmental Science at Aarhus University (Denmark), during which she aims to characterise postmortem microbial communities at work during the fossilization of organic matter, and elucidate their dynamically coevolving relationships with the habitats (organ, organism, environment) they occupy.

Ross accompanied Ally to a reception at the Danish Embassy in London last week, hosted by His Excellency Lars Thuesen, where they met HRH The Duchess of Gloucester: HRH is Protector of the Anglo-Danish Society, who administers the Scholarship.
