I am a researcher focusing on carbon cycling and greenhouse gas fluxes in cold environments. I have previously researched greenhouse gas fluxes in snow, soils, sea-ice and the Arctic Ocean, and am now looking at geological CO₂ fluxes and processes in cold and deglaciating environments. I have done this using a mixture of field, lab and modelling based approaches. I am also keen to improve access to and the equitablity of polar research, and was on the committee of the UK Polar Network for several years.
