Felix is an igneous petrologist and volcanologist and works on magma storage, evolution, and transport in active volcanic systems. His research integrates field volcanology, microanalysis, and petrological modelling to constrain pre-, syn-, and post-eruptive processes. His current focus is on Caribbean volcanoes, linking the rock record with geophysical, geodetic, and physical volcanology datasets to improve eruption monitoring and hazard assessment.

My research focuses on igneous petrology and volcanology, with particular emphasis on magma storage, eruption triggers, and the timescales of magmatic and volcanic processes. I combine field volcanology, microanalytical analysis, and quantitative modelling to investigate how magmatic systems evolve prior to eruption. My work integrates crystal chemistry, melt inclusion studies, diffusion chronometry, and thermodynamic modelling to reconstruct subsurface magmatic processes on Earth and the Moon. I am also interested in developing open-source computational tools for petrological and volcanological research.
