Oxford Undergraduate joins the 2022 Summer Undergraduate Program with the LPI

Victor Vescu, an Oxford Earth Scientist has been selected to join the 2022 Summer Undergraduate Program for Planetary Research (SUPPR) with the Lunar Planetary Institute (LPI).

The program is an eight-week internship that runs from June to August. The interns are paired to work one-on-one with NASA-sponsored planetary science investigators from several scientific institutions. The LPI has a long history of training scientists, with internships going back to 1977, many of those interns are now working as Planetary scientists across the world.

Victor who is also a member of Worcester College said 'I look forward to using seismic data from the InSight lander to study marsquakes and better understand the Martian interior. I am also excited about possibly presenting my research at next year's Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.'

After graduation Victor will be starting a PhD in seismology at Caltech. We wish Victor all the best for his summer internship and future PhD studies.
