The program is an eight-week internship that runs from June to August. The interns are paired to work one-on-one with NASA-sponsored planetary science investigators from several scientific institutions. The LPI has a long history of training scientists, with internships going back to 1977, many of those interns are now working as Planetary scientists across the world.
Victor who is also a member of Worcester College said 'I look forward to using seismic data from the InSight lander to study marsquakes and better understand the Martian interior. I am also excited about possibly presenting my research at next year's Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.'
After graduation Victor will be starting a PhD in seismology at Caltech. We wish Victor all the best for his summer internship and future PhD studies.
