I am investigating several machine learning tools for mineral exploration, particularly on how graph deep learning and unsupervised learning algorithms can solve various exploration challenges. I am neither a computer scientist nor a math expert. My first geologist job was an exploration geologist, for a copper exploration project in Borneo. My second job was at a software company, focused on ore body modelling and resource estimation. Geology lecturer is my most recent job prior to starting my doctoral study. Therefore, I hope I can help ‘bridge’ the communication between field geoscientists, data scientists, and academia in my DPhil research and future work.
The Jardine Foundation sponsors my DPhil study at Oxford. More information about Jardine Foundation Scholarship can be found here.
