Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Modelling weathering and CO2 exchanges in deglaciating environments

This position involves working in a research team on the project “Accelerated carbon dioxide release from sedimentary rocks in a warming world” which is funded by the NERC Pushing the Frontiers scheme. The overall aim of the project is to generate the first robust quantification of the role of sedimentary rock weathering as a positive feedback on climate change, constraining its role in the long-term carbon cycle and over the coming century.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant in The Security of Carbon Dioxide Drawdown During Enhanced Rock Weathering

The Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford, seeks to appoint a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Security of Carbon Dioxide Drawdown During Enhanced Rock Weathering. The post holder will report to Prof. Ros Rickaby. The main responsibility of this PDRA is to assess the potential for carbonate mineral formation downstream from the range of UK enhanced rock weathering demonstrator sites where crushed basalt is being applied.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Macroecology, Paleobiology & Niche Modelling

The department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford seeks to appoint a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Macroecology, Paleobiology & Niche Modelling reporting to Prof Erin Saupe. The post holder will be a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research for NERC grant ‘Cruising the whale superhighway: The evolution, biomechanics, and ecological drivers of migration in cetaceans’.

Student Research Experience - Reconstructing Historical CO₂ Dynamics in Arctic Rivers Using Water Chemistry and Geochemical Modelling

This an exciting opportunity to gain research experience for a student with interests in biogeochemistry, quantitative data analysis, GIS, and Arctic systems undergoing climate change. This project will investigate how climate-driven spatiotemporal variations in water chemistry influence the carbonate system and greenhouse gas evasion in Arctic rivers.
