Philip England

Philip England

Senior Research Fellow (Visiting Fellow)

Research Profile

My research is focused on understanding the tectonics of the continents, through a combination of theoretical models with geological, seismological, and geodetic measurements of active deformation. I am also interested in the thermal and mechanical structure of subduction zones.

Earthquakes without Frontiers

Current projects
Dynamics of continental deformation in the Alpine-Himalayan Belt
Tsunami hazard in the Eastern Mediterranean
Stress, metamorphism, and melting at convergent plate boundaries

Teaching Profile

3rd Year: Geodynamics.
