I joined the Department in 2013 after working for many years for the Department of Chemistry.
My primary duties are to oversee the management, facilities and fabric of the building. I arrange and manage all planned and preventative maintenance. I am responsible for a small team that oversee general maintenance, Reception, Goods Inwards, Conference & Events, Teaching laboratories and provide reactive support to incidents in and out of hours.
As Building Safety Officer I make sure that the Department is up to date with health and safety legislation and University policies.
I plan and manage all building refurbishments of laboratory and office areas, using of the facilities team, local contractors and University Direct Labour Organisation.
