I am interested in the role magnetic fields played in early Solar System evolution and how we can use the magnetism from primitive meteorites to investigate this. My research focuses on investigating the intensity of the magnetic field in millimeter-scale solids called chondrules within primitive meteorites using the quantum diamond microscope (QDM). These chondrules acquired their magnetisation during cooling and their magnetisations provide information on the magnetic field inensity of the solar nebula disk here they formed which provides constraints on the solar nebula disk structure field.
My background is in rock magnetism, where for my PhD, I investigated chemical remanent magnetisation acquisition using a combined modeling and experimental approach.
