Oxford Earth Sciences Postgraduate awarded at AGU Fall Meeting

Congratulations to Maria Tsekhmistrenko, on being awarded the Outstanding Student Presentation Award at the 2018 AGU Fall meeting in Washinton D.C.

Maria is a current Postgraduate Student at the Department of Earth Sciences in Oxford working within the Seismology Group with Tarje Nissen-Meyer and Karin Sigloch. Maria’s AGU presentation related to her research project, investigating the La Reunion plume and was titled: An Indian Ocean cluster of mantle plumes imaged by multifrequency P-wave tomography — a match to geochemical correlations?

“I was thrilled to know our presentation won the OSPA. I am very thankful to the judges for their kind comments and helpful feedback. I also want to thank the coordinators for organizing a great session.”
