As part of my PhD research I aim to construct high resolution 3HeET-based timescales over periods of rapid climatic disturbance in the Mesozoic, currently focussing on Oceanic Anoxic Event 2. Integration of these timescales with other proxy records used to reconstruct temperature, continental weathering, hydrothermal inputs and other earth surface processes will provide insight into the pacing of these environmental perturbations.
My background includes sedimentology, geochemistry, oceanography and paleoclimate. For my MSc thesis I produced a record of the changing ichnology over the two pulses of end-Permian mass extinction in the Sydney Basin, Australia. My BSc thesis concentrated on sedimentology and stratigraphy in the Helvetic nappes, East Switzerland.
