I study the size, location, and surface expression of past earthquakes in order to assess the hazards of future ones, by investigating their geomorphic record in the landscape using high resolution topographic surveys. I use airborne and space-borne photogrammetry–in addition to ground-based and airborne lidar mapping–to generate detailed topographic maps and analyze fault behavior from the scale of individual earthquake ruptures to millennial averaged slip rates.
