I am currently a Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Oxford. My research is focused on understanding large scale ocean dynamics, in particular the thermohaline circulation, its variability and its high-latitude forcing regions. I am also interested in ocean mixing, the dynamics of flow through straits, Arctic Ocean dynamics and mid-latitude atmosphere-ocean coupling.

Opportunities!

I am looking for two highly-motivated postdoctoral research fellows (to begin January 2012 or soon after). One will investigate the dynamics governing the flow through the Canadian Archipelago using a regional ocean-sea-ice model. The other will set up a process model to investigate the dynamics of both present-day and seasonally-ice-free Arctic Ocean circulations. If you have relevant experience and are interested do get in touch for more details.
