MELTS Home Page Mark Ghiorso's package for modelling crystallization of magmatic systems. Now there is also an on-line supplemental calculator for thermodynamic properties and/or component transformations of mineral solid solutions.

Alex Woronow, University of Houston, has several programs related to igneous fractionation processes.

Structural geology: free/shareware Windows stereonet programs

I get asked about these a lot:

• Quickplot (DOS) is complete, compact, and works well, but being a DOS program is not so convenient for getting the plots into your word processor.
• Stereo v3.0, advertised as shareware, is really only a demo, too heavily crippled to be useful.
• Wintek is a full-featured free program, but the current version seems a bit unstable.  Watch this one for updates.
• Stereo-Nett by Johannes Duyster at Bochum may be the best bet at the moment. (Version 2.1, link updated)
