“My Geoscience degree has served me well in my business career and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the subject and wants to keep career options open. Applied geoscience requires abilities that sit at the heart of good business in any sector: to evaluate risk and make ‘high stakes’ judgements; to look at issues systemically and identify patterns, drawing on a wide range of information types and sources; to take decisions based on incomplete data; to listen, learn and adapt; to build task-oriented teams and meet tight deadlines. It is, therefore, not surprising that the careers of many senior business people have been built on a geoscience platform.”
