Research at High-Pressures and High-Temperatures
Extreme simultaneous high-pressure, high-temperature states of matter have achieved a widespread importance in many scientific subjects. Research projects at the high-pressure laboratory in Oxford are interdisciplinary spanning the areas of high-pressure high-temperature physics and chemistry including earth and planetary science and materials sciences. We study in-situ the response of vibrational and structural properties of minerals and materials, from silicates to pure metals, at high-pressures and/or high-temperatures with Micro-Raman spectroscopy and synchrotron X-ray diffraction techniques.
